Donald A. Brown

Donald A. Brown, an attorney and real estate entrepreneur, has been active in real estate development and finance for over 50 years. In 1956, he founded the law firm of Brown, Gildenhorn & Jacobs in Washington, D.C., which specialized in real property and housing law. He also founded and served as chairman, director, and a senior partner in various JBG Real Estate Companies. Concurrently, Mr. Brown served as senior lecturer on the faculty of the Harvard Business School from 1983 to 1995 and has lectured at numerous other graduate business schools.

Mr. Brown earned his B.A. and his LL.B. at George Washington University, and his LL.M. at the Georgetown University Law Center. He has had a continuing commitment and involvement in a long list of civic and professional activities. Mr. Brown received a Presidential appointment to serve as a commissioner of the International Cultural and Trade Center and in January 1989, was chosen a Washingtonian of the Year by the Washingtonian magazine. He has served on the D.C. panel of the American Arbitration Association and currently is a county mediator certified by the Supreme Court of Florida.
