Jean-Marie Fernandez is President of the Fernandez Foundation, a private foundation dedicated to providing underprivileged children in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area with superior educational opportunities. As President of the Fernandez Foundation, Mrs. Fernandez has expanded the foundation’s giving to encompass organizations that enhance children’s ability to “think outside of the box” and provide them with the necessary resources to enhance their own self-expression and creative capabilities.
Before becoming President of the Fernandez Foundation, Mrs. Fernandez was an Education Executive for Estée Lauder, Inc.’s Baltimore/Washington region, responsible for coordinating regional activities and events for the company as well as training and educating department and specialty stores about Estée Lauder’s products and services.
For two years, Mrs. Fernandez served on the board of the Center City Consortium, a group of inner-city Catholic schools serving a predominantly non-Catholic, minority, and low-income community of Washington, D.C. She was also on the Board of Directors of the Faith in the City Capital Campaign to save these schools from closure.
