Collection and Use of Personal Information
You may provide to VPP what is generally called “personally identifiable” information when you register, such as your name, email address, postal mailing address, and place of business.
Other Information and Cookies
To help us improve the operation and usability of the VPP Site, we may also collect other “automatically collected” information, such as Internet Protocol address (i.e., the number assigned to a visitor’s computer to identify its location on the Internet), web pages viewed, time and date of visits to the VPP Site, the first page viewed upon arrival on the VPP Site, actions taken during a visit to the VPP Site (e.g., links clicked), the web site that referred or linked you to the VPP Site, and web browser used.
Some parts of the VPP Site rely on cookies, which are small data files placed on your computer (or we may rely on other technology methods in the future). We use information collected by cookies to facilitate your use of Our Site. For example, cookies (or other methods) help make certain web-based forms work properly. You are not required to accept cookies from the VPP Site. You can disable the cookies function (or delete existing cookies) using your web browser’s options. Please note that disabling cookies may prevent you from accessing some of the functionality and site offerings available via the VPP Site.
Use of Information
VPP uses the information that we collect to provide to you all of the features found on the VPP Site. We will use your email address, without further consent, for non-marketing or administrative purposes such as notifying you of major site updates.
VPP may use all of the information that we collect from you to understand the usage trends and preferences, to improve the way the VPP Site works and looks, to improve our marketing and promotional efforts, and to create new features and functionality.
VPP may use automatically collected information and cookies information to: (1) remember your information so that you will not have to re-enter it during your visit or the next time you visit the VPP Site; (2) monitor the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns; and (3) monitor aggregate usage metrics such as total number of visitors and pages viewed.
VPP will not use your email address or other personally identifiable information to send promotional or marketing messages without your consent or except as part of a specific program or feature for which you will have the ability to opt-in (i.e. VPPnews).
Disclosure of Information
VPP may disclose both personally identifiable and automatically collected information to organizations or persons to process such information on our behalf, to provide website maintenance and security, to offer certain features on the VPP Site, to assist us in improving the way the VPP Site works and looks, and to create new features. We use reasonable efforts to: (i) limit their use of such information, and (ii) see that these parties use other appropriate confidentiality and security measures.
We may share automatically collected and other aggregate non-personally-identifiable information with interested third parties to assist them in understanding the usage patterns on the VPP Site.
In the pursuit of its charitable activities, including its fundraising efforts and recruitment of charitable donors, Venture Philanthropy Partners (VPP) collects or otherwise has access to personal and proprietary information of donors and prospective donors who participate or will be asked to participate in those activities. VPP will not sell or otherwise make this information available to any third party, unless it receives advance written consent from the donor or it is required to do so by legal process. VPP will take reasonable steps to maintain the confidentiality of this information, but will not be responsible for any loss or damage resulting from release or use of the information to third parties.

We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from persons under age 13. If you are a parent or legal guardian and you believe that your child under age 13 may have provided personally identifiable information through the VPP Site, please email us at email@example.com.
