Program Associate, Investment Practice Group

I work on the team that manages all the investments and where we put our funds. From managing projects and stakeholder relationships to help running meetings, I do the support work that keeps us moving.

I really like trying to solve problems, especially when you can bring people together to help each other. I really like being part of the group that’s actually out in the field. You can see the impact and it validates all the work we do every day.

In Washington, D.C., there’s always something new to do. So many opportunities. You never know what you’re going to come across.

Growing up, I wanted to be a doctor. Clearly, that worked out very well. I just always wanted to help people. I felt like it was part of my DNA.

I grew up in New Jersey. Everything was within an hour and a half. I lived pretty close to the beach. I went away to college and that was a big adjustment in temperature.

I attended the University of Notre Dame. Very cold. Being there made me realize that I really like the East Coast; the pace is a little bit more my style, I think.

When I’m not working, I like to find things to do to keep myself busy. What I really enjoy most is just sitting down with friends, meeting new people, trying new things.

I came to VPP through a fellowship program called ProInspire. It’s basically for people with 2-5 years of work experience looking to get into the social sector. They matched me here because of my project management background, and all of a sudden I’m here and it’s been almost two years.

The support network I have has made all the difference. I think that’s really important. I have a lot of friends and family that are just incredible people doing amazing things. Knowing that someone has your back is really important.

Passion and dedication are what set our investment partners apart. Everyone will go above and beyond because the kid matters most.

Right away, I felt like everyone I met at VPP was just so smart and so motivated. Now that I’m here, I think my team is awesome. I couldn’t ask to work with a better group of people.
